Chrissie over at Bloggeries Blog Reviews spent a considerable amount of time today and reviewed PhilosYphia and gave it a 4 out of a 5, which I am very grateful for and very happy with. I try to make this place as accessible to my readers as I can and interesting enough to come back, but I’m always glad for anyone who cares to pipe up and tell me what I’m doing right and what I could be doing better.
I’m rather happy with the review, all in all. One suggestion was to add more monetization to the blog (translation: advertising), but I’m pretty happy with what I have right now. I never created this blog to make any money, unlike many bloggers out there, and so I’d prefer to pick a few choice things that I really like out there (such as my phone company and ThinkGeek) and promote them instead of randomly putting my name behind anything and everything, especially when you, the reader, get slammed with more than enough advertising elsewhere. There’s just no real advantage to me to drive you all nuts, you know? (If you’re like me, you’re halfway there already!)
The other suggestion was to make posts shorter so they don’t all end up being long reads, and I’m going to try to think about that one a bit and sprinkle in some shorter posts with the longer ones. Sometimes, I get on a really good subject, I have some good points to make, and I really do think the long post is worth the time. But, I know I can ramble or wax on and your brain probably rots away at these times, so I’m going to carefully consider throwing in some shorter but still as poignant pieces from time to time.
As always, you, my reader, should feel free to leave me a suggestion about my blog in the comments on this or any other posting, or simply contact me privately to suggest or criticize. I appreciate all notions.
At any rate, thanks for the review, Chrissie and Bloggeries. You made a guy pretty happy about his work.

I don’t believe you should make your post’s shorter. I do believe you have a fantastic blog and always enjoy in a read and seeing other peoples perspectives.
You are a fantastic writer and I always look forward to your next post
Congratulations on the glowing review! I’m still a little traumatized after having mine ripped to shreds back in June. Blargh.

Hey, congratulations on your great review. I’ve read about keeping posts short too, and while I try, there are subjects as you said that just need to be longer. So I say it’s your blog, do as you feel it needs to be. But I agree with you that constructive critiques are very helpful. Overall, you have a great blog and keep it up!
Chris
Thanks, Bec. I guess I should say that instead of making certain posts shorter, I should allow myself to post shorter posts from time to time in amongst the long ones. Oftentimes, when I finally get TIME to blog, I go, “Gosh, it’s been so long, but now I have a subject, I can say a lot on it!” and it gets long.
Thanks, Alynda. Personally, I think you got the wrong end of the review stick.
Thanks, Chris. You’re right — I’ll do my blog as I like. But, like I said, I just need to feel free to post a variety of lengths instead of the World of Tomes.
Congrats on the good review. I just got finished reading it over at Bloggeries. By the way, I don’t think your posts are too long because they are interesting content. Some subjects are harder to take in long doses but the kind of things you blog about make it a pleasure to read all the way through. Just my two cents
