Marie: No, they cannot emit carbon monoxide, mostly because carbon monoxide requires a contained environment to be generated (a low-oxygen environment) and that almost never happens with a range because all the flames are open to large spaces. So they’re very safe in those terms.

Yeah, you have to be more careful about what you get near there…for instance, putting a pot holder on the stove next to the burner is now a no-no and so forth, but for the most part you’d have to work pretty hard to catch something on flame.

I’m afraid of gas stoves. :/ Can they leak carbon monoxide? I’m also sort of clumsy/careless so flames would not be a good idea for me, personally. Glad you enjoy it, though It’s amazing how great a new appliance really is after you’ve been using a quirky machine/piece of shit for years. We just replaced our 12-year-old oven a month ago after replacing the oven coils for the 50th time. It’s nice to have four burners and an oven that work
