I use Fitday too! I love it but I only use the free version. If you use the PC version you have to do it all on one computer right? I log in from work so I like having that option.

Sounds like you have all it takes to be a success Good for YOU!

I would say "Hey, watch Super Size Me!" but that just made me want a burger more then ever.

As a first time reader of this blog, I will say good luck and when you wanna beer and a burger, just ask. You can eat vicariously through me!

I love hearing when someone is ready to make a change in their life (and it wasn't some resolution they made after one too many on New Years Eve)! Good luck and I hope to see you succeed. FitDay sounds like a great tool for this!

I remember having this impulse, too. I think it's great that you're thinking about your family, but my experience is that none of this is going to work, long term, unless you're doing it for yourself first. It has to be for yourself. When you get to that day when you can't look at another boneless, skinless chicken breast or bear to tie up your walking shoes one more time, you're going to need to rely on your will. Now it's my turn to pull for you. Make sure you get plenty of self portraits during the process, too. You'll want those, even if you never share them with another soul.

Katy: Thanks, sis. I might take you up on some tips once I manage to get to a point that I'm not going crosseyed everytime I do something. :)

Marie: You know, I wish I could attribute my weight to candy, but I just can't. I can't eat much of that anymore; it's too sharp on my mouth, hurts it. No, mostly I'm terribly fond of rich sauces, high-carb foods, and processed breads. Oh, the pain.

Bec: Thanks! Here's hoping.

Alynda: Thanks for the vibes -- so far, so good. I think your time has been a bit preoccupied with settling in a new country; I'll give you the benefit of a doubt, eh? :)

Lisa: Me too, hence why I'm not calling it a NY resolution because that almost ensures failure. And plus, this has to be a life change, not a simple yearly goal, in order to work.

Good luck with this. I've grown wary of new year's resolutions over the years. I end up doing the exact opposite of what I resolve to do.

Good for you - will be sending healthy vibes your way.

I've been better since I got here, but more tired, so exercising hasn't been a hugely high priority. I'll get there soon. ;)

I think its great your doing this! Obviously, I've always been
very concerned about weight and health. If I may...I'll give you
a few tips that have helped me over the year. Take them for what
they are worth. They are simply things that have helped me lose wieght
and stay healthy. Crunches...do a variety of types. I'd be happy
to show you what I do sometime. Another thing that helps me is to
track how many calories you are burning while working out. You can
see this on your treadmill and there are a variety of websites to help
figure calories burned in crunches, weightlifting, etc. Good Luck and
GO YOU!!!
