Thank you for raising a child with respectable, well-rounded musical influences! Toto is all kinds of awesome and I love your word - "haunting." It really is, but it's a weird kind of haunting that isn't totally sad but it's not happy, either. It's...wanting. A little bit of quiet desperation.

Eh. I am not making any sense whatsoever. LOVE THIS, though!

Great post, I agree completely on the 80's music angle...there's some classic stuff mixed amid the other "music" of that era.

I loved your comments on my blog. Thanks for much for chiming in. You got some people thinking, me included :)

I love reading your post, it always gets me thinking. I didn't recognize the song just by the name, but once I pulled up the video the familar music touched the inner 80's child in me. Oh and I shouldn't admit to this, but I used to think David Bowie was HOT....boy I must have had a warped mind.

I loved the 80's music- all in all I think it's my favorite decade for music, and your post was very interesting- I never really looked that deeply into the meaning of the words of that song before. We do need to stop and remember to appreciate that person that is there for us every day no matter what, because the pressures of daily life constantly pull us in another direction. We can't forget what attracted us in the beginning to each other; that's what will get a couple through the hard times that inevitably will hit every relationship at some time. Great post!
