Bouncing Felines

I almost forgot to mention, dear reader, an incredibly funny occurrence the other day. Our cat, Leo, has apparently gotten used to sitting on the sill of the window in the dining room. In fact, he has obviously learned that when Landa opens up the curtain, she means to open up the window, too, and it’s clear to go lounge.

So, Landa trots over to the window the other day and rolls up the curtain, because contrary to the month that we’re currently experiencing, it was fucking gorgeous and we figured that we might as well try to open up the house, etc. However, I took the screens off the windows a week ago to keep them from being damaged in the winter ice and cold, so she didn’t open the window.

We’re standing around in the dining room post-curtain-opening and suddenly we hear a, *THWACK!* Turning around in surprise, we see the cat pick himself up off the floor in a daze, small songbirds cavorting around his head. Seems he made a mighty leap for the windowsill and instead ricocheted off the glass. Landa immediately ran to his side and massaged his noggin as he mrowed in disbelief.

I guess our windows are clean — at least from a cat’s perspective.
